Our next meeting will be Saturday, August 11 at Nancy and John Horn's, 705 5th Avenue, at 4 pm. We will have a potluck so bring a dish to pass. Friends and relative are welcome!
The highlight of the meeting will be an orchid swap, "bring an orchid take home an orchid". No orchids to swap? Not to worry! Many of the members bring multiple orchids to share.
This is the ideal time of year to adopt an orchid and also cull the collection for the upcoming winter, or if you have duplicate plants as a result of repotting and dividing now is the time to share the bounty.. If you are adopting a new orchid, this is a great time to learn from the previous owner about its quirks and preferences in growing and blooming.
Join us for a July meeting potluck at Cheri and Dwight’s home. They live on Elkhorn Road in the valley, just north of the Glass Slipper, off Keir Lane. Here are directions for two ways to get there:
1) Drive highway 12 thru East Helena to the Flashing yellow light. Turn north onto Spokane Creek Road. At the Glass Slipper, turn right onto Canyon Ferry Rd. Take a left onto Keir Lane. OR, 2) Drive east past Costco on Canyon Ferry Rd. continue east to the Glass Slipper. Look to left for Keir Lane.
On Keir Lane, go 0.5 miles. Elkhorn Road sign will be on the right. Go up the hill 0.5 miles. Look for the Black Pine (green) sign on the right, slow down and keep going up the hill; our driveway is the next one on the LEFT.
I'll will have orange balloons posted at the corner of Elkhorn Road and Keir Lane and at our driveway. If you get lost, call 406 475-3522.
